Notes: The Venus Fly Trap is found in nitrogen- and phosphorus-poor environments, such as bogs and wet savannahs. Venus Fly Traps must be kept moist at all times – therefore it is best to keep them in a tray of water. If possible water the plant with rain water – tap water is acceptable, however if you can collect rain water this is preferred. Please avoid any overhead watering.
To ensure longevity of your plant, don’t close the traps with fingers. Closing the traps continuously with fingers causes the plant to use excess energy with no reward of food. If you wish, you can feed your plant once a month with a live fly or insect.
