Origin: Veracruz, Chiapas, Tabasco, around the Yucatan Peninsula, then southward into northern Belize and Guatemala.
Diet: Will take all types of life & frozen food, will thrive on any good quality pellet and flake food such as New Life Spectrum pellets.
Firemouth Cichlids are omnivorous by nature. Captive specimens are relatively unfussy but should receive a varied diet comprising high quality, fine-grade prepared foods plus live or frozen Chironomid larvae, Tubifex, Artemia, Mosquito larvae, etc.
