Prefers a planted aquarium and driftwood to hide under, fine grained smooth substrate. They generally inhabit areas of fast flowing water where they graze on algae. If algae is not available they are happy to suck on some algae pellets, even flake food that reaches the bottom of the tank. As a special treat you can also feed them blanched spinach or short steamed zucchini.
