Description
Common name: Harlequin Rasbora
Latin name: Trigonostigma heteromorpha
Maximum size: 4-5cm
Water chemistry: pH: 5.5-7.5, ideally soft (dH: 5-15), 21-28 C
Origin: Native to southern Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, and the Greater Sunda islands of Borneo and Sumatra.
Temperament: Peaceful schooling fish.
Diet: Will take almost any food, but will thrive on good quality pelleted food such as New Life Spectrum. Benefits from the inclusion of live and frozen foods in its diet.
Mostly inhabits gently flowing sections of forest streams where submerged aquatic plants such as Cryptocoryne species grow thickly. Always buy a group of at least 6 of these, preferably 10 or more. Because they do shoal closely, they actually look far more effective when maintained like this.
