Origin: Native to South America, lower Amazon basin in central and western Brazil.
Temperament: Peaceful schooling fish.
Diet: Will thrive on good quality pelleted food such as New Life Spectrum Grow Formula. Benefits from the inclusion of live and frozen foods in its diet.
Ember Tetras also makes an ideal dither fish for Apistogramma spp. and other dwarf cichlids since the Tetras tends to inhabit the middle-to-upper regions of the tank, and does not normally hunt fry. Their unique colouration and the schooling behaviour makes them a great beginners fish.
