Origin: Lake Malawi, Africa, deep rocky habitats.
Temperament: aggressive.
Diet: Will take good quality flake or pellet food such as New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula. Will also take frozen or live food, but only feed occasionally.
Males and females have similar coloration and size. Males have longer ventral fins and more distinct egg spots.
