Latin name: Nannacara anomala

Origin: Amazon Basin & River systems (Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina), South America.
Diet: Wild caught fish are foragers and are feeding on algae, organic detritus, small insects, worms, crustaceans, and other zooplankton. They take all types of life & frozen food, good quality pellet and flake food (such as Nutrafin Max Tropical Colour Enhancing Flakes).
As their name suggests, these fish will develop a metallic gold sheen but this can actually range between green, blue and gold for the males, female display a more earthy colour with a range of browns, blacks and greys but still make for a beautiful fish. Decor can consist of some driftwood branches and pieces of bogwood, with addition of dried leaf litter (oak or Indian almond leaves are suitable) to simulate its natural habitat.
