Latin Name: Puntius conchonius
Native extensively distributed Bengal, India and other parts of Southeast Asia. The species appears to be considerably variable across its natural range. The rosy barb is an active, peaceful species well-suited for a community aquarium. It is considered one of the hardiest barbs, undemanding and beautiful, and most impressively colored during the mating period. Requires a reasonably large tank when fully grown.
In the wild their omnivorous diet consists of worms, insects, crustaceans, and plant matter – will take all types of food.
